A workshop developed in Portugal is the starting point of the thesis. During this workshop a shake table test of masonry structures has been performed. The first was a brick masonry structure and the second was a stone structure. The collapse mechanisms of the experiments have been compared with the ones found with simulations performed with different types of finite elements formulation, constitutive laws and damage criteria. The results obtained have been compared among them pointing the attention on the similarities and divergences. In a following step, the reference model has been compared with predictions and postdiction published by experts in the sector of seismic engineering. Finally, the results have been compared with simulation performed by other authors. In conclusion, the benefits brought by the mixed formulation finite elements in dynamic non-linear analyses have been underlined.

Abstract
In conclusion, the benefits brought by the mixed formulation finite elements in dynamic non-linear analyses have been underlined.I documenti in UNITESI sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
