Since Man appeared on Earth, he has always tried to improve, first of all, himself and, as a direct consequence, his conditions of life and the world in which he lived. He always looked for something more than before, a step forward compared to his previous one, trying to overcome the "imposed" limits of previous eras. It is in this sense that we need to study the function of progress, above all the scientific one and nowadays the technological one, which has been part of the culture of the whole of the twentieth century, up to the present day. The scientific and technological progress has undeniably improved our lives with a series of discoveries and inventions that have allowed man to improve his expectations and his standard of living, to make his work more efficient, to increase his production techniques, to reach places, which in previous ages seemed unreachable, and people, thanks to the incessant use of smartphones and social networks, in a world in which it is possible to communicate in real time thanks to the Network. It is in this context that the present thesis work is placed, work which took place during a traineeship experience at the National Research Council (CNR) of Bari. The aim of this training was the acquisition of additive production technology (AM) for the realization of electrical devices in biodegradable thermoplastic. Consequently, the present thesis work has as its goal the fabrication and characterization of a dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) in biodegradable polymer (PLA) using AM technology. For this reason, this work concerns an excursus on the antennas, first in general explaining what these electrical devices are, and then focusing our attention on dielectric antennas -dielectric Resonator Antennas (DRAs)- that to say the type of antenna that in this work we want to achieve. Finally, the various steps necessary for the realization of the DRA antenna (from the project done on the CAD to the assembly of the various antenna components) and its characteristics, the various parameters used on the CAD before and on the CAM then, the expected performances and the results found after making the measurements with the VNA (Vector Network Analyzer) at the Polytechnic of Bari are described.

Abstract
Finally, the various steps necessary for the realization of the DRA antenna (from the project done on the CAD to the assembly of the various antenna components) and its characteristics, the various parameters used on the CAD before and on the CAM then, the expected performances and the results found after making the measurements with the VNA (Vector Network Analyzer) at the Polytechnic of Bari are described.I documenti in UNITESI sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
