Abstract

The rate of technological development measures the economic growth of nation's and in last year’s we have witnessed to a rapid development of wireless devices thanks to the contributions of science research and experts of industry. The need of this development is marked by the context in which more people and objects are connected every time and everywhere with anyone and there- fore it becomes fundamental to understand how to handle this complexity and take the opportunities to generate new models of business for the technology factory. The challenges of world are pushing us to find innovative solutions in the telecommunications world, but having to push us further, finding significant use in the IoT or in the biomedical engineering, just to name a few. The widespread use of wireless systems has pushed for many years academic and industrial research to produce microstrip antennas design that submit some of the key features: low-cost of production, broadband, high gain and that their structure was light and scalable. Engineers motivated by that these antennas are integrable with microwave circuits have made them even more popular. Part of my research concerns the investigation of innovative Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) antennas design, the intuition was to use the supershaped introduced by the biologist Johan Gielis with the goal of selecting the best antennas in terms of electromagnetic performance, and then obtaining a comparison of equivalent circuits from them. Varying the few parameters present in the supershaped, it is possible to generate an infinity of forms in nature but also of an abstract nature, considering that each form is described by a mathematical equation, the use of supershaped extraordinarily simple the mathematical problem. In order to complete the electromagnetic and parametric study, CST Studio Suite and Matlab software has been used, realizing an interface between the two to simplify the parametric study of antennas.

Design of conformal supershaped monopople antennas for biomedical applications
