The main goal of this work is the implementation of SDN and NFV paradigm into the NTN architecture for the sixth-generation, starting from theoretical aspects. First, it introduces the historical evolution of mobile radio networks aimed at understanding what are the reasons that pushed the scientific community to look towards the new generation, the 6G. After, it presents the concepts of MEC, SDN, NFV and it defines NTN architecture, explaining how they are used and exploited within the sixth-generation architecture and the performance problems that characterize them. The achievement of the main objective allowed us to carry out appropriate evaluations regarding the latency introduced by the NFV and SDN paradigms in NTNs.
