Abstract
The incessant uptake of electric vehicles is mainly due to the vehicle-to-grid (V2G) energy exchange mode which allows power grid support and higher energy efficiency. In this thesis work, a quadratic optimization problem is implemented in MATLAB to peak-shave and valley-fill the aggregate power consumption profile of 96 residential customers by optimally scheduling the electric vehicles charging/discharging process at their home chargers, hence exploiting V2G mode and using real-world UK data of power consumption, PV production and parking lot occupancy. Moreover, a comparison between the study case with and without PV panels is carried out in order to evaluate if the renewable energy integration improves the aggregate power request and thus how it influences the optimization of the EVs charging/discharging process. From an economic point of view, in order to minimize the total daily energy cost of the residential aggregate, equipped with PV, a linear optimization problem of EVs charging/discharging process with diverse time-of-use prices has been performed. The target is to assess whether the customer savings increase compared to the case in which no dynamic tariffs are used. The validity and advantage of the proposed approach has been verified by simulation results.I documenti in UNITESI sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
