Emerging technologies are the subject of much debate in academic research, as well as being a central topic in policy discussions. By choosing the right emerging technology, adopting it at the right time and reserving the appropriate waste of economic resources in it, companies can change the status quo of their markets and achieve the right competitive edge to overwhelm competitors and to play a key role in determining the rules of the game of your own market. However, there is a discrepancy in defining univocally what an emerging technology is and how it can be classified in its development process. For a business manager it could be useful to develop a tool that analyzes the emergence of technologies through the feedback and considerations of the whole company, to better understand how the perceived value of a given technology evolves. In this way the manager will be far-sighted enough to be able to discern the most convenient emerging technologies that allow him to prevail over other competitors.
