This thesis focuses on the valorization of industrial waste - in particular: marble scraps and sediments dredged from water basins - to develop sustainable cement conglomerates. After the characterization of the waste under experimentation, experimental mix designs were developed with (partial or total) replacement of the aggregates. Rheological analyses, flexural and compressive strength tests and microstructural investigations have highlighted that, with an optimization of the dosages, it is possible to obtain mortars with good mechanical performances. In particular, sediments with sandy characteristics offer higher resistances than clayey ones, while an excessive presence of marble can compromise the cohesion of the material. The results demonstrate the potential of industrial waste for the production of low environmental impact building materials, contributing to the transition towards a more sustainable building model.

Abstract
The results demonstrate the potential of industrial waste for the production of low environmental impact building materials, contributing to the transition towards a more sustainable building model.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
