This thesis discusses the importance of the Internet of Things (IoT) and the security of connected devices, with a focus on authentication using Radio Frequency Fingerprinting (RFF). RFF exploits the unique characteristics of devices' radio signals to identify and protect them from adversary attacks. The thesis is divided into three chapters: the first one introduces IoT and RFF, the second one illustrates the methodology of authentication using radio signals, and the third one presents the results of tests conducted on different communication channels and frequencies, analyzing the impact of frequency variations on the Bit Error Rate.

Abstract

This thesis discusses the importance of the Internet of Things (IoT) and the security of connected devices, with a focus on authentication using Radio Frequency Fingerprinting (RFF). RFF exploits the unique characteristics of devices' radio signals to identify and protect them from adversary attacks. The thesis is divided into three chapters: the first one introduces IoT and RFF, the second one illustrates the methodology of authentication using radio signals, and the third one presents the results of tests conducted on different communication channels and frequencies, analyzing the impact of frequency variations on the Bit Error Rate.

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF RADIO FREQUENCY FINGERPRINTING SCHEMES FOR DEVICE CLASSIFICATION IN QPSK MODULATION
