The phenomenon of Homelessness is a complex and urgent issue involving individuals without stable housing and access to basic resources. This thesis aims to thoroughly examine the phenomenon of homelessness from a European, Italian, and regional perspective, focusing on the city of Bari. Through the investigation of the evolution of services in the city, combined with field experience through interviews and shadowing activities, and in collaboration with the volunteer association In.Con.Tra, a more comprehensive and articulated view of the phenomenon has been achieved. From these experiences, numerous problems and needs have emerged, allowing for the development of a design process that follows the “parasitic” constructive logic, as well as being based on the use of waste materials, with the goal of enhancing the quality of life for individuals and restoring personal dignity.

Abstract
The phenomenon of Homelessness is a complex and urgent issue involving individuals without stable housing and access to basic resources. This thesis aims to thoroughly examine the phenomenon of homelessness from a European, Italian, and regional perspective, focusing on the city of Bari. Through the investigation of the evolution of services in the city, combined with field experience through interviews and shadowing activities, and in collaboration with the volunteer association In.Con.Tra, a more comprehensive and articulated view of the phenomenon has been achieved. From these experiences, numerous problems and needs have emerged, allowing for the development of a design process that follows the “parasitic” constructive logic, as well as being based on the use of waste materials, with the goal of enhancing the quality of life for individuals and restoring personal dignity.I documenti in UNITESI sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
