Historically, university residences are a topic of great importance faced by individuals and institutions, which have followed one another over the centuries, in an attempt to provide adequate accommodation for off-site students from all over the world. In the panorama of student accommodation only in the last few decades has we begun to consider the needs and requirements of the latter, often forced to spend their formative years in environments that tell nothing and do not simplify everyday life. In this thesis we want to address precisely these aspects, analyzing the history of the university housing from their appearance to today and proposing innovative and simplifying furnishing solutions for a new structure undergoing redevelopment on the land of the city of Bari. Storicamente le residenze universitarie sono un tema di grande rilievo affrontato da privati e istituzioni, che si sono susseguite nel corso dei secoli, per cercare di fornire un alloggio adeguato a studenti fuori sede provenienti da tutto il mondo. Nel panorama degli alloggi per studenti solo negli ultimi decenni si è iniziato a considerare le esigenze e i bisogni di questi ultimi, spesso costretti a passare gli anni formativi in ambienti che non raccontano niente e non semplificano la quotidianità. In questa tesi desideriamo curare proprio questi aspetti, analizzando la storia degli alloggi universitari dalla loro comparsa ad oggi e proponendo delle soluzioni d’arredo innovative e semplificative per una nuova struttura in corso di riqualificazione sul suolo della città di Bari.
