This thesis focuses on the recovery of historic hospital structures from the 19th century, emphasizing the importance of preserving the historical and architectural values inherent in the built heritage. Through a case study of the former "Vito Fazzi" Hospital in Lecce, the challenges related to degradation and preservation are explored, proposing a methodological approach that employs the HBIM (Historic Building Information Modeling) digital model with Autodesk Revit. This method facilitates the recovery and refunctionalization, also allowing for the automation of processes such as degradation mapping, to preserve and upgrade historic hospital structures.
