The objective of this thesis is the numerical modeling of wave mechanics, with particular reference to the phenomenon of the breaking of a regular wave, as well as to the energy dissipated by it. The Lagrangian model SPH has been used for this purpose. This model is particularly effective for free surface flows, as it allows to follow the trajectories of individual fluid particles, resulting in the identification of the free surface even in complex conditions, such as those of the breakage. The results of the conducted simulations were then plotted and analysed for the different types of breakage, in order to highlight the differences in mechanical behavior.

Abstract
The objective of this thesis is the numerical modeling of wave mechanics, with particular reference to the phenomenon of the breaking of a regular wave, as well as to the energy dissipated by it. The Lagrangian model SPH has been used for this purpose. This model is particularly effective for free surface flows, as it allows to follow the trajectories of individual fluid particles, resulting in the identification of the free surface even in complex conditions, such as those of the breakage. The results of the conducted simulations were then plotted and analysed for the different types of breakage, in order to highlight the differences in mechanical behavior.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
