Abstract
It is a path from the general to the particular of deepening about Additive Manufacturing technologies, explaining the main technologies, the different materials and the characteristics. The focus is on medical-surgical and in particular orthopedic applications, dealing with examples of clinical cases and incredible modern innovations and achievements. The path is divided as follows: • Introduction • Chapter I: AM technology guidelines - main 3D printing technologies (methods), common printer characteristics, differences between additive and subtractive technology and between the two approaches (traditional and AM), evolutionary process (virtual level | acquisition processing and real level | post processing), trends and challenges • Chapter II: Materials used - classification and characteristics • Chapter III: Biomedical and orthopedic applications - orthoses and prostheses, case study analysis Focus on: custom-made • Chapter IV: objectives and future developments • ConclusionsI documenti in UNITESI sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
