Managing cash flows for Automated Tellers Machines (ATMs) is one of the crucial tasks for banking systems: banks must guarantee that there always is available cash money in order to ensure the execution of the withdrawal operations. This requisite can be modeled as a Time Series Forecasting problem. In this work of thesis we developed a Prophet-based model and compared it to the most known statistical methods available in literature, using data coming from a Belgian bank group. Our findings show that the proposed Prophet-based model is capable of achieving higher-accuracy predictions with several different forecast horizons.

Abstract
Managing cash flows for Automated Tellers Machines (ATMs) is one of the crucial tasks for banking systems: banks must guarantee that there always is available cash money in order to ensure the execution of the withdrawal operations. This requisite can be modeled as a Time Series Forecasting problem. In this work of thesis we developed a Prophet-based model and compared it to the most known statistical methods available in literature, using data coming from a Belgian bank group. Our findings show that the proposed Prophet-based model is capable of achieving higher-accuracy predictions with several different forecast horizons.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
