Within this thesis work, a folded transmitarray antenna operating in Ku band has been designed starting from the scientific literature. The design has been performed by employing the electromagnetic simulation software CST Microwave Studio®, the directional and scanning properties of the antenna were confirmed. It was verified that the reflectarray and transmitarray can operate in the whole frequency range under consideration, providing excellent transmission efficiency and a 360° control over the phase of the field. The antenna presents a high gain with peaks above 20 dBi in the 12.8 to 14 GHz frequency range, and it is capable of covering a scanning angle of ±21°.
