The Melody transcatheter pulmonary valve (TPV) is frequently considered in patients with right ventricle outflow tract conduit obstruction. As an alternative to the open-heart surgery, this procedure is minimally invasive. However, TPV implantation is associated with a risk of coronary compression. An innovative finite element (FE) balloon dilatation model has been built starting from 3D Models derived from computed tomography of the heart (cardiac CT) and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The aim is to predict coronary compression in order to avoid patient exposure to unnecessary risks and procedures. The developed models allowed analysis of important parameters that could play a role in the determination on the angioplasty procedure outcome in terms of coronary compression.

Abstract
The developed models allowed analysis of important parameters that could play a role in the determination on the angioplasty procedure outcome in terms of coronary compression.I documenti in UNITESI sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
