STORIE E PROGETTI PER I NUOVI BORGHI RURALI DEL PERIODO FASCISTA IN PUGLIA. CONOSCENZA E PROSPETTIVE DI RECUPERO DEL PATRIMONIO ARCHITETTONICO DI BORGO DUANERA - LA ROCCA

This thesis analyzes the Fascist-era foundation villages (borghi di fondazione) in the Capitanata region, investigating how integral land reclamation transformed the territorial and landscape configuration of the Foggia area. The research focuses on the case study of Borgo Duanera La Rocca, explored not only through the analysis of historical archival documents but also through direct interviews with residents. The involvement of the local population allowed the social dimension and historical memory of the site to emerge, highlighting the critical issues related to its current state of neglect. Based on these findings, the thesis proposes strategies for the recovery and enhancement of the existing assets, aiming with the aim of revitalizing the Village and transformimg It into an active resource for the sustainable development of the territory.

Il lavoro di tesi analizza i borghi di fondazione fascista in Capitanata, indagando come la bonifica integrale abbia trasformato l’assetto territoriale e paesaggistico del foggiano. La ricerca si focalizza sul caso studio di Borgo Duanera La Rocca, approfondito non solo attraverso l'analisi di documenti storici di archivio, ma anche tramite interviste dirette ai residenti. Il coinvolgimento della popolazione locale ha permesso di far emergere la dimensione sociale e la memoria storica del luogo, evidenziando le criticità legate all'attuale stato di abbandono. Sulla base di questi dati, la tesi propone strategie di recupero e valorizzazione dei beni presenti, con l’obiettivo di rifunzionalizzare il borgo e trasformarlo in una risorsa attiva per lo sviluppo sostenibile del territorio.
