The increasing accumulation of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) represents a significant environmental challenge. This thesis explores the use of triboelectric charging to separate plastics derived from WEEE, with the aim of improving the recycling and reuse of raw materials. Through detailed experiments, it has been demonstrated that triboelectric charging can be effectively used to distinguish and separate different types of plastics. The results obtained indicate that this technique not only increases the efficiency of the recycling process but also helps to reduce the environmental impact of WEEE, promoting a sustainable circular economy.

Abstract

The increasing accumulation of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) represents a significant environmental challenge. This thesis explores the use of triboelectric charging to separate plastics derived from WEEE, with the aim of improving the recycling and reuse of raw materials. Through detailed experiments, it has been demonstrated that triboelectric charging can be effectively used to distinguish and separate different types of plastics. The results obtained indicate that this technique not only increases the efficiency of the recycling process but also helps to reduce the environmental impact of WEEE, promoting a sustainable circular economy.

GREEN TECHNOLOGIES FOR SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF THE WEEE CYCLE. TRIBO-ELECTROSTATIC CHARGING OF PLASTICS: PS, PVC, PP, PA
