This thesis explains the potential of Virtual and Augmented Reality techniques, applied to the analysis and management of architectural historical heritage, through the creation of a VR-based information system to support recovery and restoration. The main purpose of the thesis is the application of this innovative methodology, which exploits the peculiarities of Virtual Reality, for the analysis of historical architectural assets. The Virtual Reality technique has been applied to Ducal Palace of Andria. At the end of the study, it is possible to affirm how Virtual Reality represents a valid technology in the field of architectural and historical heritage. Within the scope of it, Virtual Reality enhances and makes accessible an environment of historical importance by describing its evolution and showing its characteristics.
