The aim of the thesis work was to develop and characterize a phase matrix system for acoustic levitation. The implemented system features an array of 95 single-sided ultrasonic transducers, transmitting at 40 kHz. For each transducer, an independent phase control has been implemented for the generation of acoustic fields capable of allowing acoustic levitation and particle trapping at specific points. At the end of the development, the characterization of the system was carried out to understand its behavior, and to verify whether or not the required requirements were met

Abstract

The aim of the thesis work was to develop and characterize a phase matrix system for acoustic levitation. The implemented system features an array of 95 single-sided ultrasonic transducers, transmitting at 40 kHz. For each transducer, an independent phase control has been implemented for the generation of acoustic fields capable of allowing acoustic levitation and particle trapping at specific points. At the end of the development, the characterization of the system was carried out to understand its behavior, and to verify whether or not the required requirements were met

CHARACTERIZATION OF A PHASED ARRAY SYSTEM FOR ACOUSTIC LEVITATION
