As the climatic changes due to the greenhouse effect are getting worse, something could be done in the transport sector, which highly impact on the total amount of GHG emitted by humans. This thesis work, written with the support of Centro Ricerche Fiat, located in Valenzano, has the aim to investigate the performance and the feasibility of some of the new transport’s technologies, which have the goal to reduce the climate impact of the private and public transports. The two main topics that will be presented are: lithium-ion batteries behaviour under charge and discharge conditions and Hydrogen used as fuel in ICE. In particular: Lithium-ion Battery Thermal Management (BTMS), to investigate the benefits of a fluid cooling system built around the Pouch cell. Benefit and technical choices of HICE, investigating the combustion process and air/fuel homogeneization under direct injection and how to improve them, keeping low NOx production.

Abstract
Benefit and technical choices of HICE, investigating the combustion process and air/fuel homogeneization under direct injection and how to improve them, keeping low NOx production.I documenti in UNITESI sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
