The management of railway service interruptions represents one of the most critical aspects of railway operations, as it requires a careful balance between infrastructure safety and maintenance needs and the continuity of transport services. In a context characterized by intensive network renewal and upgrading activities, interruption planning plays a strategic role in limiting impacts on train operations and service quality. This thesis analyzes the strategies adopted in the management of railway interruptions, taking the models of Rete Ferroviaria Italiana and Ferrovie Federali Svizzere as case studies. The analysis shows that the Swiss model prioritizes early planning and strong integration with the timetable, while the Italian model is characterized by greater operational flexibility. The thesis proposes a comparative reading of the two approaches, aimed at identifying strengths and potential areas for improvement in the management of railway interruptions.

Abstract
The thesis proposes a comparative reading of the two approaches, aimed at identifying strengths and potential areas for improvement in the management of railway interruptions.I documenti in UNITESI sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
