This thesis analyzes the issue of access to the medium in LoRaWAN networks for distributed monitoring applications. Specifically, a firmware-level TDMA overlay is designed and experimentally evaluated, while keeping the standard LoRaWAN chain unchanged and comparing it with the reference ALOHA mode. The study is conducted using a testbed consisting of five end-device nodes, a gateway, and a backend for trace collection and analysis. The objective is to verify whether a more regular temporal organization of transmissions can reduce the effects of packet overlap and improve delivery robustness under conditions of increasing load.

Abstract
This thesis analyzes the issue of access to the medium in LoRaWAN networks for distributed monitoring applications. Specifically, a firmware-level TDMA overlay is designed and experimentally evaluated, while keeping the standard LoRaWAN chain unchanged and comparing it with the reference ALOHA mode. The study is conducted using a testbed consisting of five end-device nodes, a gateway, and a backend for trace collection and analysis. The objective is to verify whether a more regular temporal organization of transmissions can reduce the effects of packet overlap and improve delivery robustness under conditions of increasing load.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
