Abstract
This thesis presents a highly efficient hybrid system for hand movement recognition based on surface electromyography (sEMG) signals. The architecture utilizes Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) for adaptive denoising and targeted feature extraction, overcoming the limitations of linear filters and reducing overfitting on raw data. The pre-processed input feeds a "lean" Artificial Neural Network (ANN) to ensure computational efficiency suitable for real-time operation. The application of a Hybrid Balancing (HB) strategy, which includes SMOTE, eliminated the classifier's bias toward the rest class.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
