This thesis investigates the optimization of a Massive Multiple Input - Multiple Output (MIMO) environment, in which a variable number of devices (STAs) are connected to Access Points (APs) in close proximity to each other. The purpose of this work is to find a way, using a spatial reuse algorithm, to coordinate the APs for simultaneous transmission, and therefore achieving a high level of throughput while keeping a generally low transmission power. Spatial reuse is based on capture effect (CE), which consists of finding a suitable CE ratio that allows receivers to correctly interpret the incoming signal because of comparatively low interference, and on exponential backoff, which determines the most suitable group for transmission in a specific transmission opportunity (TXOP), and because of this minimizes collision probability. Improvements to the system model can be made by dropping preparation-related physical assumptions and studying the logistics of the coordination phase, which is assumed possible throughout the model.

Abstract
Improvements to the system model can be made by dropping preparation-related physical assumptions and studying the logistics of the coordination phase, which is assumed possible throughout the model.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
