In this thesis work we have experimentally studied how a mixed use of trivialized lines can bring advantages to railway maintenance. First, a parameter was sought that could synthetically indicate the geometric quality of the track, the choice fell on the defect indexes that make up the track quality index. Subsequently, models were used that made it possible to evaluate the decay rate of these indices as a function of the tons of cumulative traffic. It was thus possible to make a comparison between the lines on which traffic is unidirectional and those where traffic is bidirectional. In conclusion, through a series of comparisons of the various parameters, it was observed how the traffic in the alternate direction leads to a slower decay of the geometric quality of the track.

Abstract
In this thesis work we have experimentally studied how a mixed use of trivialized lines can bring advantages to railway maintenance. First, a parameter was sought that could synthetically indicate the geometric quality of the track, the choice fell on the defect indexes that make up the track quality index. Subsequently, models were used that made it possible to evaluate the decay rate of these indices as a function of the tons of cumulative traffic. It was thus possible to make a comparison between the lines on which traffic is unidirectional and those where traffic is bidirectional. In conclusion, through a series of comparisons of the various parameters, it was observed how the traffic in the alternate direction leads to a slower decay of the geometric quality of the track.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
