The paper presents the results of finite element analysis of a bio-inspired mushroom-shaped micro-structure, with the aim of verifying its behavior in the phase of detachment from a rigid substrate. The methods of adhesive detachment and some variations in mechanical behavior as the geometry of the structure varied were investigated.

Abstract

The paper presents the results of finite element analysis of a bio-inspired mushroom-shaped micro-structure, with the aim of verifying its behavior in the phase of detachment from a rigid substrate. The methods of adhesive detachment and some variations in mechanical behavior as the geometry of the structure varied were investigated.

FINITE ELEMENT STUDY OF ADHESIVE DETACHMENT MECHANISMS OF MUSHROOM PILLARS
