In the following thesis work, after analyzing the characteristics of composite sandwich panels, an experimental study is conducted on specific panel configurations by performing both tensile and bending tests to analyze the failure behavior of the panels and identify optimal configurations. In addition to the experimental tests, a numerical model is developed to simulate the mechanical response during the bending test of one of the experimentally analyzed configurations. The objective is to define and calibrate a model that can be used as a reference during the design phase to optimize the geometric and mechanical properties of the studied panel.

Abstract
In the following thesis work, after analyzing the characteristics of composite sandwich panels, an experimental study is conducted on specific panel configurations by performing both tensile and bending tests to analyze the failure behavior of the panels and identify optimal configurations. In addition to the experimental tests, a numerical model is developed to simulate the mechanical response during the bending test of one of the experimentally analyzed configurations. The objective is to define and calibrate a model that can be used as a reference during the design phase to optimize the geometric and mechanical properties of the studied panel.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
