RETI INTERNET OF THINGS CON COLLEGAMENTO SATELLITARE PER IL SUPPORTO AD APPLICAZIONI MEDICALI

The Internet of Things technology has increasingly taken hold in our society, influencing it in various ways. In this work we want to describe the characteristics and applications of these networks, to then illustrate some examples of network architecture, to understand their functioning in more detail. Later, we will focus on the use of IoT technology in the medical field, in particular by studying the architectures of satellite-type IoT networks, and finally we will analyze a cloud-based satellite network architecture used for interplanetary communications.

La tecnologia Internet of Things ha preso sempre più piede nella nostra società, influenzandola sotto vari aspetti. In questo lavoro di tesi si vuole descrivere le caratteristiche e le applicazioni di queste reti, per poi illustrare alcuni esempi di architettura di rete, per comprendere più nel dettaglio il loro funzionamento. In seguito, ci concentreremo sull’impiego della tecnologia IoT in ambito medicale, in particolare studiando le architetture di reti IoT di tipo satellitare, e infine analizzeremo un’architettura di rete satellitare basata su cloud utilizzata per delle comunicazioni interplanetarie.
