In this thesis work, the optimization of a spintronic diode for applications in the field of energy harvesting in terms of non-resonant responses has been researched through systematic studies as functions of the physical parameters. Basically two research activities have been carried out: the first for a low frequency tail response with excitation of only alternating magnetic field; the second for a broadband response only in the presence of alternating current. The first activity showed the possibility of converting the magnetic fields into an electric DC voltage signal, but with mT magnetic field amplitude values higher than the desirable ones (microT). The second activity, on the other hand, showed that the spintronic diode exhibits a low frequency tail non-resonant response with different characteristics of frequency and amplitude of the output voltage depending on the physical parameters of the device. Furthermore, the results highlight that, instead, a broadband response can be obtained in the presence of other interactions, such as voltage-controlled magnetic anisotropy (VCMA).

Abstract

IMPLEMENTATION OF ELECTROMAGNETIC HARVESTERS BASED ON SPINTRONIC DIODES
