Abstract

This thesis is part of the design of aids for sensory disabilities. The project consists in the development of a device capable of supporting the user in recognizing the warning and danger signals in urban spaces, in order to guarantee greater safety and autonomy. The research analyzed the contemporary scenario of new technologies adopted in aids for the blind and deaf. Chameleon is a device capable of adapting to needs, light and easily transportable, equipped with feedback with vibration and lighting that allows you to avoid obstacles and signal any means of transport.

LA PRESENTE TESI È INSERITA NELL’AMBITO DEL DESIGN DI AUSILI PER LE DISABILITÀ SENSORIALI. IL PROGETTO CONSISTE NELLO SVILUPPO DI UN DISPOSITIVO IN GRADO DI SUPPORTARE L’UTENTE NEL RICONOSCIMENTO DEI SEGNALI DI AVVERTIMENTO E PERICOLO IN SPAZI URBANI, AL FINE DI GARANTIRGLI MAGGIORE SICUREZZA E AUTONOMIA. LA RICERCA HA ANALIZZATO LO SCENARIO CONTEMPORANEO DELLE NUOVE TECNOLOGIE ADOTTATE NEGLI AUSILI PER NON VEDENTI E NON UDENTI. CHAMELEON È UN DISPOSITIVO CAPACE DI ADATTARSI ALLE ESIGENZE, LEGGERO E FACILMENTE TRASPORTABILE, DOTATO DI FEEDBACK CON VIBRAZIONE ED ILLUMINAZIONE CHE CONSENTE DI EVITARE GLI OSTACOLI E SEGNALARE QUALSIASI MEZZO DI TRASPORTO.
