The flow and heat transfer characteristics have been numerically analysed for impinging jets on different geometrical configurations. Several numerical models have been developed for an air impinging jet on a static cylinder and validated with respect to existing experimental data. The final model has been used to analyse the case of an impinging jet on a rotating cylinder. A focus has been then given to the modelling of a cold carbon dioxide impinging jet on a flat plate. The Peng-Robinson equation of state and the dependence of the fluid properties from pressure and temperature have been considered. Cooling of the plate has been assessed under several operating conditions. The main findings of this work might be used to pursue the research on the thermal-flow behaviour of supercritical carbon dioxide impinging jets on a rotating cylinder.

Abstract
The main findings of this work might be used to pursue the research on the thermal-flow behaviour of supercritical carbon dioxide impinging jets on a rotating cylinder.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
