The goal of this thesis work is to present and describe automated approaches for diabetes control, and ultimately, to compare the accuracy among multiple Machine Learning (ML) models used for predicting whether a patient is in a diabetic state or not. The comparison of prediction models was conducted using Python. The research activities were supplemented through the analysis of scientific articles related to the studied topics, selected through scientific research web portals such as Google Scholar and IEEE Xplore. After an initial introduction to diabetes and the study methodologies used to address diabetes, the thesis work is divided into three additional chapters: in the second chapter, automated applications used for diabetes monitoring are discussed, along with examples and future research objectives; in the third chapter, all the data science processes performed on the initial dataset are detailed, leading to a comparison of the accuracy among the implemented Machine Learning algorithms; in the final chapter, the conclusions of the thesis work are presented.

Abstract
The goal of this thesis work is to present and describe automated approaches for diabetes control, and ultimately, to compare the accuracy among multiple Machine Learning (ML) models used for predicting whether a patient is in a diabetic state or not. The comparison of prediction models was conducted using Python. The research activities were supplemented through the analysis of scientific articles related to the studied topics, selected through scientific research web portals such as Google Scholar and IEEE Xplore. After an initial introduction to diabetes and the study methodologies used to address diabetes, the thesis work is divided into three additional chapters: in the second chapter, automated applications used for diabetes monitoring are discussed, along with examples and future research objectives; in the third chapter, all the data science processes performed on the initial dataset are detailed, leading to a comparison of the accuracy among the implemented Machine Learning algorithms; in the final chapter, the conclusions of the thesis work are presented.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
