The growing attention to the environmental issues that characterise our planet has led to the introduction of ESG factors in the financial field: credit institutions evaluate the performance of individual counterparties in terms of environmental, social and governance performance, so as to meet the expectations and interests of stakeholders. It is for this reason that in recent years rating agencies have begun to combine credit ratings with ESG ratings, to ensure a complete evaluation of counterparties. However, the concept of ESG performance has not been defined unambiguously: each agency evaluates different parameters and attributes a different weight to each of them, determining a real "far west" in the financial market. The European supervisory bodies have considered it necessary, precisely for this reason, to define a regulation ("Regulation (EU) 2024/3005") that wicks the numerous divergences between rating agencies and promotes greater transparency in the measurement process. The regulation will come into force from July 2, 2026 but many realities are already trying to follow the guidelines provided by EBA and ESMA: this is what emerges by analysing the activity carried out in the last 6 years by Banca Popolare Pugliese, a fundamental entity for our territory.

Abstract
The regulation will come into force from July 2, 2026 but many realities are already trying to follow the guidelines provided by EBA and ESMA: this is what emerges by analysing the activity carried out in the last 6 years by Banca Popolare Pugliese, a fundamental entity for our territory.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
