This thesis proposes the prototyping of a 5G NR testbed based on mmWave frequencies, with subsequent evaluation of the performance obtained. The main objective is to analyze the radio access technologies necessary to support the growing demand for mobile broadband and to address the challenges associated with signal propagation losses. The infrastructure created is based on a 5G network architecture managed via OpenAirInterface and TMYTEK hardware, capable of managing FR2 band frequencies. The thesis describes the basic mechanisms of 5G NR, analyzes the hardware specifications of the devices, shows the configuration of each element of the testbed, and finally evaluates performance using the extracted metrics.
