The thesis aims to experimentally study the behavior of gravity currents on steep slopes through measurements of PIV and dye visualisation and with appropriate post-data processing. The purpose is to estimate the fluid dynamic parameters to be incorporated in the physical model of P. Beghin - taken as a benchmark - and to interpret the results in the light of the theories of turbulence and dilution.

Abstract
The thesis aims to experimentally study the behavior of gravity currents on steep slopes through measurements of PIV and dye visualisation and with appropriate post-data processing. The purpose is to estimate the fluid dynamic parameters to be incorporated in the physical model of P. Beghin - taken as a benchmark - and to interpret the results in the light of the theories of turbulence and dilution.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
