The thesis describes the development and validation of a Unity app for the Meta Quest 3 headset, aimed at exploring alternative tracking modalities in augmented reality. The app compares two spatial positioning methods — 3D model overlay and three reference points — tested both in a virtual environment and on a real object. The modular and hierarchical interface organizes the virtual models to accurately manage spatial transformations through roto-translations. The user experience includes a training phase and two test modes: a virtual one and a real one, with data collection on times, position errors and angles. The data exported in .csv allow a quantitative evaluation of the effectiveness, precision and intuitiveness of the two tracking methods.

Abstract
The thesis describes the development and validation of a Unity app for the Meta Quest 3 headset, aimed at exploring alternative tracking modalities in augmented reality. The app compares two spatial positioning methods — 3D model overlay and three reference points — tested both in a virtual environment and on a real object. The modular and hierarchical interface organizes the virtual models to accurately manage spatial transformations through roto-translations. The user experience includes a training phase and two test modes: a virtual one and a real one, with data collection on times, position errors and angles. The data exported in .csv allow a quantitative evaluation of the effectiveness, precision and intuitiveness of the two tracking methods.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
