Finite element method is a numerical technique derived by the necessity to solve complex structural problems. In this work, finite element method has been used to analyze the stresses on a stainless-steel toolbox for the trucks, on which dynamic load have been applied and investigate on the failure modes of the laser welded joints. The analysis results will be useful to determine design solutions to improve the product and make it suitable for the military standards defined by the “MIL-STD-810G” regulation. The analysis results data have been used to determine the fatigue lifetime of the joint.

Abstract
Finite element method is a numerical technique derived by the necessity to solve complex structural problems. In this work, finite element method has been used to analyze the stresses on a stainless-steel toolbox for the trucks, on which dynamic load have been applied and investigate on the failure modes of the laser welded joints. The analysis results will be useful to determine design solutions to improve the product and make it suitable for the military standards defined by the “MIL-STD-810G” regulation. The analysis results data have been used to determine the fatigue lifetime of the joint.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
