This thesis work analyzes the effectiveness of localized laser heating to induce overaging in a 6XXX series aluminum alloy, with the aim of reducing hardness in specific areas. Four experimental strategies were compared, evaluating the effect of the power-scanning speed combination on the material temperature and its mechanical response. The results enabled the identification of the optimal process parameters to achieve a significant reduction in hardness.

Abstract
This thesis work analyzes the effectiveness of localized laser heating to induce overaging in a 6XXX series aluminum alloy, with the aim of reducing hardness in specific areas. Four experimental strategies were compared, evaluating the effect of the power-scanning speed combination on the material temperature and its mechanical response. The results enabled the identification of the optimal process parameters to achieve a significant reduction in hardness.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
