The increasing complexity of urban mobility necessitates the adoption of advanced tools for the management and optimization of road infrastructures. This paper describes the construction and implementation phases of a traffic microsimulation model developed using PTV Vissim software, applied to the urban area surrounding the "Perone-Levi" School on Via Brigata Regina (Bari). The primary objective of this work was to create a "Digital Twin" of the road network, capable of faithfully replicating current operating conditions. The methodology involved an initial static modeling phase, focused on the geometric definition of links, intersections, and infrastructures dedicated to vulnerable users (sidewalks and crosswalks). Subsequently, dynamic components were implemented by inputting vehicular and pedestrian traffic volumes and configuring the existing traffic signal control plans. The simulations conducted allowed for a qualitative analysis of network performance, identifying critical issues related to vehicle-pedestrian interactions and queue formation. The validated model serves as the essential operational basis for subsequent study phases, aimed at estimating pollutant emissions and evaluating improvement scenarios.

Abstract
The validated model serves as the essential operational basis for subsequent study phases, aimed at estimating pollutant emissions and evaluating improvement scenarios.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
