This thesis work concerns the revamping of the Candela (FG) wastewater treatment plant. After an overview of the main regulatory changes at European, national and regional level, the current state of the plant is analysed, with particular attention to the critical issues present and the design interventions envisaged for its adaptation and improvement. Specifically, the revamping of a wastewater treatment plant consists of a set of adaptation, strengthening and optimization interventions to improve its purification performance, management reliability or compliance with regulatory requirements. In the case of civil wastewater treatment plants, these interventions may concern the water line, the sludge line, the electromechanical compartments, the treatment units, the control and automation systems. Revamping therefore does not represent a simple replacement of obsolete equipment, but an overall process of updating the system with respect to new technical, environmental and management needs. In this context, the European and national regulatory framework constitutes an essential reference for the definition of discharge requirements and the quality objectives of water bodies in general. Regional planning, on the other hand, allows these guidelines to be translated into concrete objectives, to direct interventions towards greater treatment potential or purification efficiency, better quality of the effluent and more sustainable management of the treatment lines.

Abstract
This thesis work concerns the revamping of the Candela (FG) wastewater treatment plant. After an overview of the main regulatory changes at European, national and regional level, the current state of the plant is analysed, with particular attention to the critical issues present and the design interventions envisaged for its adaptation and improvement. Regional planning, on the other hand, allows these guidelines to be translated into concrete objectives, to direct interventions towards greater treatment potential or purification efficiency, better quality of the effluent and more sustainable management of the treatment lines.I documenti in UNITESI sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
