This thesis analyzes the influence of the capacity design principle and strength hierarchy criteria on the seismic behavior of a reinforced concrete structure. After a theoretical overview of structural ductility, dissipative behavior, and ductility classes, the study examines the hierarchy criterion at structural joints and the role that capacity design plays in the verification of structural elements. The applied section consists of modeling a building: the results obtained are used to analyze how internal forces and reinforcement change following the application of capacity design criteria. A comparison is also carried out between ductility classes CD"A" and CD"B", in order to highlight the differences in terms of structural demand, resistant capacity, and reinforcement quantities. Finally, the numerical results are processed and compared through tables and percentage analyses.

Abstract
Finally, the numerical results are processed and compared through tables and percentage analyses.I documenti in UNITESI sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
