This thesis analyses the application of Industry 4.0 technologies to warehouse processes, with particular attention to storage activities and the role of warehouse operators. The research is conducted through a Systematic Literature Review based on Scopus and Web of Science, complemented by a deductive Content Analysis of the selected full texts. The studies are classified through a multidimensional framework covering technologies, logistics problems, levels of integration and autonomy, validation methods, benefits, risks, and implementation conditions. The aim is to understand not only which technologies are most frequently investigated, but also which configurations show greater maturity and which prerequisites may affect their adoption. The study therefore provides a structured interpretation of the opportunities and critical issues associated with smart storage and of possible future pathways for warehouse digitalisation and automation.
