The automatic detection of epileptic seizures is a key research area for the objective assessment of disease progression and the adaptation of therapeutic interventions. While many existing approaches are based on EEG data, their use in everyday settings is limited due to the high effort required and reduced user acceptance. Non-EEG-based sensor data, such as inertial motion data or cardiovascular signals, offer the potential to enable continuous and everyday-capable seizure detection. The aim of this work is the development and systematic evaluation of methods for the automatic detection of epileptic seizures based on non-EEG sensor data. In this context, different neural network architectures will be compared with respect to their suitability and performance. The architectures under investigation include, among others, convolutional neural networks (CNNs), temporal CNN variants, and recurrent neural networks (RNNs). In addition, the influence of heart rate and heart-rate-based features on the detection performance will be systematically analyzed.

Abstract
In addition, the influence of heart rate and heart-rate-based features on the detection performance will be systematically analyzed.I documenti in UNITESI sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
