This thesis work is positioned within the context of marine renewable energy exploitation, with a specific focus on tidal stream turbines for predictable and clean power generation. The main objective of this study is the definition, optimization, and three-dimensional modeling of a turbine blade, which represents a critical component for capturing water power efficiently. The adopted methodology involves, firstly, a theoretical and hydrodynamic analysis to define the optimal hydrofoil profiles along the radial span of the blade. Secondly, utilizing the discretized geometric data alongside chord and twist parameters, a computer-aided design (CAD) reconstruction was performed within the Autodesk Inventor environment. By importing coordinate points and applying advanced surface and solid modeling techniques (Loft), a smooth transition of the profiles was generated from the root to the tip. The resulting blade model was ultimately integrated and assembled in a three-dimensional environment with the rotor hub, ensuring that all parts fit together with perfect continuity. The clean model obtained through this workflow establishes the fundamental prerequisite and geometric baseline for domain discretization (meshing) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations, aimed at evaluating performance coefficients and validating the turbine's fluid-dynamic behavior.

Abstract
The clean model obtained through this workflow establishes the fundamental prerequisite and geometric baseline for domain discretization (meshing) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations, aimed at evaluating performance coefficients and validating the turbine's fluid-dynamic behavior.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
