Climate change is currently one of the major problems facing our planet. In this work, an energy retrofit to “Passivhaus standard” of a kindergarten located in the Mediterranean area is analysed on the basis of future weather scenarios. The analysis aims to assess if the design solutions currently adopted on the basis of the typical meteorological years, will lead to accetable energy performance and indoor comfort conditions in future decades. The analysis confirms that global warming might require the installation of active cooling systems or passive cooling strategies, in particular over a long-term horizon. Furthermore, the analysis shows that high-performance design solutions will less affect the reduction of building consumption in the future weather scenarios. This result could lead to a modification of actual optimal design solutions.

Abstract
This result could lead to a modification of actual optimal design solutions.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
