The area of interest concerns the sensory and expressive dimension of the materials that make up the surfaces and their ability to stimulate perception, the attribution of meanings and the emotional sphere, by reviewing the most important sensory systems: sight, touch. , sound and smell. In defining the relationship between material and design, the innovation activity carried out within the laboratory will be aimed not only at the design of new materials, but also at the modification of paradigms of use of pre-existing materials, capable of changing the sense of their use and application.

Abstract

The area of interest concerns the sensory and expressive dimension of the materials that make up the surfaces and their ability to stimulate perception, the attribution of meanings and the emotional sphere, by reviewing the most important sensory systems: sight, touch. , sound and smell. In defining the relationship between material and design, the innovation activity carried out within the laboratory will be aimed not only at the design of new materials, but also at the modification of paradigms of use of pre-existing materials, capable of changing the sense of their use and application.
