However, these products do not offer a solution to frontal and lateral accidents, which are the most frequent (according to the numbers reported on some statistical surveys compared) due to poor visibility near intersections. In addition, with the aim of maintaining constant attention of the cyclist, it was developed a system of haptic interaction with the sensors through coatings of some components of the bicycle that would transform the signals into vibration, a mechanism already in use as a communication device for example in the automotive industry, gaming and, in general, in technological devices.

Abstract
The thesis lab aims to identify an area of design research concerning process innovation linked to the contamination between industrial and craft processes. In particular, the theme of safety for the cyclist and the bicycle reaches multiple production sectors and areas of application. This project highlights the weight and importance of the contamination processes mentioned above when applied to the innovation of languages and techniques, and is carried out along a precise direction of research that aims to move away from the trends of globalization and homogenization of goods. The subject of the project is thought in terms of strategic design, that is, as a possibility to define new design solutions aimed at solving the problems found in the analysis phase. On the market there is a whole category of devices called bike radar that aim to solve problems and criticalities of rear view mirrors, especially in preventing rear-end collisions: the interaction with the cyclist occurs through sounds and/or images transmitted on devices that can be placed on the handlebars. However, these products do not offer a solution to frontal and lateral accidents, which are the most frequent (according to the numbers reported on some statistical surveys compared) due to poor visibility near intersections. Therefore, by implementing the system with an additional transverse-front radar sensor in addition to the rear one, the risks of accidents and road injuries would be significantly reduced. In addition, with the aim of maintaining constant attention of the cyclist, it was developed a system of haptic interaction with the sensors through coatings of some components of the bicycle that would transform the signals into vibration, a mechanism already in use as a communication device for example in the automotive industry, gaming and, in general, in technological devices.I documenti in UNITESI sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
