In a world of increasingly environmental sustainability, companies that operate in design and furnishing sectors are looking to ways to communicate and show their commitment to these fields. In addition to the production processes oriented towards recycle processes and the pollution reduction, it is also important that the image and values of the brand are seen in an eco-sustainable and green perspective. The brand's philosophy is expressed in various ways, including websites, brochures, showrooms for sale, and arrangements for the display of goods during events and exhibitions dedicated to design. This thesis regards this last case: design of installations dedicated to the world of furniture that are used in fairs and all types of exhibition events, with the primary aim of communicate eco-sustainability and enhancement of our local culture and tradition. First of all the environmental sustainability contribution for design exhibitions in the Italian context will be analysed. the exhibiting company must find ways to show itself ecological by taking care of the setup, using recyclable materials to build it, and the way of displaying products. Moreover, will be given an overview of the Made in Italy concept that will be provided explaining its identity and what has led to its introduction. This certification is often associated with the concept of quality, which is an added value to the product, the link with craftsmanship and with Italian industry. For this reason, Italian companies that gain the certification often have competitive advantages over foreign competitors. After this, there will be case studies of furniture Italian companies and how they promote sustainability and Made in Italy. Finally, in the design stage, thanks to the application of these arguments, there will be the project for a system that has the goal of exhibit materials used in the manufacturing processes of furnishings respecting ecological principles and increasing Made in Italy. The goal is to increase the value of the Italian territories both from an environmental and historical-cultural point of view.
