The dissertation deals with a topic in the field of medical design, for wellness, enhancement and care experience. In particular, the subject of the thesis is the in-depth study of scoliosis and the orthopaedic corset as a treatment to prevent it from progressing. To date, there are various types of braces that are made to measure, but each of these entails psychophysical problems for the patient wearing it, especially during the adolescent phase. It was possible to identify these problems thanks to a User Centred approach: users were submitted to a questionnaire generating extensive feedback. Based on the data collected, requirements were identified for the design of an aid that would meet the needs of the patients. In conclusion, the aim is to promote the acceptance of this orthopaedic aid with the hope of making it less disabling and allowing a normal lifestyle.
